This policy explains what information Disaster Dashboards collects when you visit hazarddashboards.com, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Disaster Dashboards is an Australian company that brings official emergency information into one live map and builds branded dashboards for councils and organisations. You can reach us at Email hello@disasterdashboards.com or call (02) 9699 8500.
What we collect from visitors
We do not collect personal information from you directly. There are no accounts, forms that send us data, or comment fields on this site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and operations, which are rotated automatically.
The enquiry button opens your own email client — the message only reaches us if you choose to send it, and whatever you include is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
Analytics and your consent
This site is built to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only after consent. Analytics is not currently enabled.
When consented, GA4 collects usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google processes this on our behalf and may store it overseas. Advertising features are disabled and no advertising identifiers are set.
You can withdraw or grant consent any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer — declining afterwards stops analytics and removes the GA cookies.
Cookies and local storage
- Consent choice — your Accept/Decline answer is kept in local storage so we do not ask on every visit.
- _ga and _ga_* — set by Google Analytics only after you consent.
- No other cookies are set, and nothing is stored before your choice.
The Live Map and council dashboards
Our Live Map at hazardsmap.com and the dashboards we run for councils have no resident accounts and collect no personal information from end users. Councils see only aggregate usage statistics.
Access, correction and complaints
If you have contacted us, you may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles you can complain to us first — we will respond promptly — and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always at hazarddashboards.com/privacy, with the date of the latest revision above.
